To make the panels you will want to build a frame that fits on a south facing outside wall if you are in the northern hemisphere, north facing if you are in the southern hemisphere. You can customize this frame to fit around windows or can be a simple box shape; however, the larger the more heat you will collect. The frame should be around 6 inches deep. Attach black plastic on the back of the frame and place against the wall.
Attached a 4mil clear plastic, sealing the whole frame. The black plastic will collect more heat from the sun and store it between the clear and the black material. Let the heat into your home buy cutting a hole in the top and the bottom of the wall and the black plastic. This allows the heat to pour into your home and the hole at the bottom allows for cold air exchange.
