The first solar panels were developed in the 1960’s and they started a new era where this remarkable process allows us to generate electricity from sunlight as if by magic. Yet it is only now that we are starting to see them being installed on lots of new buildings when they are constructed. A solar panel installation has one great benefit over other energy systems you have the system installed and it then costs nothing to collect the free energy from the sun even though the cost of energy may continue to increase for everyone else. The years of research and development in solar energy panel technology have led to a reduction in the basic cost of the panels and improved efficiency and conversion ratios enabling greater use of solar panels to provide electricity to cut carbon emissions and save money when the sun shines.
